Application

The short circuit indicator is used in distribution networks with a radial layout and one input.
It is very recommendable to use this indicator in case of big sight disturbance or in case the protection of labour makes it necessary.
The short circuit indicator type VE operates without any auxiliary power supply.
The sensors must be installed on screened and earthed cables.

Short Circuit Indicator type VE
General Description

The short circuit indicator type VE consists of a reading instrument (1,2) and a "detecting set " of three sensors (3).
The reading instrument is equipped with three flag indicators, one for each core.
The reading instrument is available as a surface mounted instrument and as a panel instrument.
The indication is reset through a mechanical linkage, which is unlocked with a push button.
The detecting set consists of three single sensors. The output of these sensors is combined in one junction and connected to the reading instrument. The standard length of the metering cable is 2600 mm
(on request, other lenghts are possible). The size of the mounting frame depends on the diameter of the cable (refer to the following table).
