Application
The short circuit indicators type K / KH / KM are used in distribution
networks with a radial layout and one input.
They operate on an electro-mechanical basis. The reset of the
indication can be performed via the recovering voltage (K) on the
conductor and
/ or manually (KH) via a push button, as well as a combination of both
reset types (KM). For operation, no auxiliary power supply is necessary.
The short circuit indicators type K / KH / KM is able to
detect surge currents and slowly rising currents .

General Description
The
short circuit indicators type K / KH / KM are single units. They are
directly mounted on the conductor.
The indication system is incorporated in a plastic housing. The housing
is fully sealed and meets the conditions of IP 67.
A stainless steel frame, which is laid around the conductor, fixes the
indicator. The frame can be disconnected from the housing, so that a
supplementary installation is possible.
The short circuit indicator is used for detecting shockable currents
and currents with a flag growth curve characteristic.
The reset is performed:
type K:
automatically via the recovering voltage of the conductor. - This
indicator can only be mounted on unscreened cables.
type KH:
manually via a reset button. - This indicator can be mounted on
screened and unscreened cables. With unscreened cables, the indicator
must be reset with an operating stick.
type KM:
combination of the types K and KH. - The reset can be performed via
voltage and manually.
Optionally,
the short circuit indicator type K can be equipped with a multiple
adjustment for trip
currents. Via a rotary switch, there will be 4 adjustable trip currents
adjustable between 150 A and
1500 A. Please indicate the requested trip currents when ordering
(standard: 200 / 400 / 600 / 800 A).
