Application
The short circuit indicator is used in distribution networks with a radial layout and one input or ring networks. It is recommendable to use this indicator in case of sight disturbances or for the protection of labour. It is possible to use 230 V AC for power supply, which can be gained from the monitored network. For other kinds of power supply, please refer to appendix A.

General Description
The short circuit indicator type GI is a two-step-
short circuit indicator for use in ring networks
It is available in two versions.
Version " L " (1) : It is possible to install the sensor
on unscreened cables. The sensors and the
reading instrument are connected with light mains.
Version " S " (2) : The sensors of the sensor-set can be mounted on screened cables only. The sensors are connected to the reading instrument via cable. Both versions are available as surface- mounted units. Both indicators are provided with a potential -free alternating contact. The operating point can be adjusted at the sensor.
