Application
The earth fault indicator type TERRA operates in medium
voltage radial networks with only one input. The sum current of the
conductors L1, L2 and L3 will be measured.
(The instrument is preferably applied in resistance-earthed or solidly
earthed neutral systems).
The earth fault indicator should be installed in each branch of the
system.

General Description
The earth fault indicator type TERRA consists of a reading instrument
(1), a sensor (2) including
the connection cables (4).
The reading instrument is available either as a panel-mounted
instrument or as a surface-mounted instrument.
Every version is available with manual reset or with reset by
recovering voltage 230 V AC. Each version can be delivered with up to
three operating currents, which can be selected on site. |

Version
1
This version of TERRA requires
the connection of 230VAC for its indication function.
The operating currents are adjustable from 10 A upwards.
The indication can be reset in the following ways:
1) manually via a magnet system in the instrument
2) automatically via the recovering volatge 115/230 VAC of the
switchgear
For the detection of earth fault the S-sensor will be applied.
Version 3
This version of TERRA does not require any auxiliary power supply for
responding to an earth fault.
The power for indicating is directly gained from the P-Sensor.
The operating currents are adjustable from 25 A upwards.
The indication can be reset in the following ways:
1) manually via a magnet system in the instrument
2) automatically via the recovering volatge 115/230 VAC of the
switchgear
Every indicator can be supplied
with a contact for remote indication.
The S-sensor consists of a black plastic
housing with a coil inside. The housing is fully sealed (IP 67). The
sensor if fixed on the conductor with a cable tie. The earth fault is
detected with the
help of a steel belt made of laminated steel.
The connection to the reading instrument is done via cable (standard
length: 3000 mm).
The P-sensor consists of a laminated
steel belt, and the coil is directly wrapped on this belt. The sensor
is fixed on the high voltage conductor with the help of two plastic
cable ties.
The connection to the reading instrument is done via cable (standard
length: 3000 mm).
