Application

The earth fault indicator type EFL is used in medium voltage networks with radial layout and one input. The minimum earth fault current must be 20 A (solidly earthed neutral or resistance earthed networks). The earth fault indicator should be installed in each branch of the network.

 

 Earth Fault Indicator Type EFL-A

General Description

The earth fault indicator type EFL-A consists of the reading instrument and the sensor including
the connecting cable.
The reading instrument is a surface-mounted instrument according to protection class IP65.
The reading instrument is supplied by a lithium battery.
The earth fault indicator is applied in cases where cost efficiency and an easy handling is requested.
For this reason, the earth fault indicator is preadjusted in our workshop to one operating current and one reset time, which have to be specified with the client's order.
The reading instrument is equipped with a microcontroller for evaluating the earth fault current.
When ordering, the client can determine a minimum impulse suppression in order to avoid faulty indications (standard value 80 ms).

The reading instrument is equipped with a LED, which blinks when the adjusted operating point has been reached or exceeded. The indication resets into the standby-mode after the preadjusted time. However,
the indicator can be reset any time with a push button.
By request, the instrument can be equipped with a relay for remote indication.
The current transformer (sensor) consists of a black plastic housing. The housing is fully sealed (IP67).
In order to pick up the current, a multilayer steel belt is laid around the cable. The steel belt is plastic-coated (indication accuracy +/- 10%).
The sensor is mounted with an infinitely variable plastic
