Application
The
earth fault indicator type EASI-R and EASI-ER operates in medium
voltage radial networks with only one input. The sum current of
conductor L1, L2 and L3 is measured. The minimum current is 10 A. (The instrument is mainly used in
resistance- earthed or solidly earthed neutral systems.)
The earth fault indicator should be installed in each branch of the
network.
Faults are indicated via a flag (day) and via an LED (night). |

General Description
The
earth fault indicator consists of the reading instrument (1),
the
sensor (4) including the connection cables (3).
The reading instrument is available as a surface-mounted instrument
EASI-R (1), or as a panel-mounted instrument EASI-ER (2).
The reading instrument
is supplied with power by a lithium battery (10 - 15 years service time
with 1000 hours blinking time).
The reading instrument is
equipped with a LED and a
flag indication. Both indicators start to operate, if the preadjusted
operating current has been exceeded. This insures that the indication
is well visible during the day and night.
There are different operating points (currents) possible for each
instrument. The operating point must be in the range of 10 A to 300 A. The indicator can be reset with the recovering
voltage of the system, and/or after a preadjusted time delay (for example: 1 - 2 - 4 - 8 h - other values are possible, too), or
manually with a push button. The instrument is equipped with a test
push-button.
Each instrument is equipped with a contact for remote indication (1 x
changer or 2 x closer).
The sensor is placed in a black housing.
This housing is fully sealed (protection grade IP 67). The sensor will
be mounted on a cable with a plastic belt (plastic cable tie). In order
to detect the earth fault current, a steel sheet is laid around the
cable (indication accuracy: +/- 10%). The sensor and the reading
instrument are connected by a cable (standard lenght: 3000 mm - other length by request).
An external blinking lamp can be connected to the reading instrument,
which is directly supplied with power coming out of the reading
instrument.
