Current Pulse Instrument
Introduction
Thank you for purchasing this current pulse instrument.
Please read this instructions
carefully, in order to be familiar with all functions and to ensure an
unproblematic use. Please keep this manual, so that it will be
available all time.

Product description
Proper use: The Current Pulse
Instrument is used for adjusting and checking short circuit and earth
fault indicators.
Use
Before using the instrument,
the supplied short circuit cable has to
be mounted on the two copper
pieces on the back side of the housing.
The power connection has to be
carried out at the device connector plug on the front side with a power
cord type C19.
Safety information
The
current pulse instrument can only be used with the supplied accessories.

Switch-on
The instrument is activated by
turning over the On/Off – switch. Additionally the On/Off – switch is
an overload protection switch. When the Instrument is switched on, the
LCD display lights up.
Range selector
Through the rotary switch (6)
you can chose between two current ranges 10 .. 100 A and 100 ... 1000
A. Adjusting the current: The current can be adjusted within the
selected current range by the adjusting button (7) of the transformer.
Preadjusting the
current
For
preadjusting the current, the pulse time has to be put on ”permanent”
through the rotary switch (5).
The push button START (3) has to be pushed and held down. Now, the
current is displayed on the LCD display and can be changed with the
adjusting button (7). This procedure is limited to 10...15s. After a
waiting time this procedure can be repeated.
Please use an external current meter when highest accuracy in the
current adjustment is necessary.
Adjustment of the pulse time
The
pulse time can be adjusted between 20 ms and 220 ms by the rotary
switch (5).
Activation of current pulses
By
pushing the START button (3), a single current pulse with the
preadjusted pulse time and current is triggered.
Waiting time
After
every pulse, the instrument is blocked for approximately 3s. This is a
protection measure, in order to protect the instrument against
overload. |
