| Design The capacitive voltage ledge consists of a plasic housing which incorporates a measuring circuit component. The capacitive voltage ledge is a part of the voltage detection system (VDS) . The VDS-system is designed according to IEC 61243-5. |
| Function The voltage coming out of the bushing / capacitive insulator is limited in the capacitive voltage ledge according to the regulations of IEC 61243-5. The balancing measuring circuit component must always be adapted to the assigned bushing / capacitive insulator. For this purpose, the current coming out of the bushing / capacitive insulator has to be measured (confer Appendix D). In addition, the instrument indicates the voltage applied at the bushing / capacitive insulator. If the short circuit plug is pulled out, the respective lamp is blinking. |
| Assembling The housing is fixed with two screws on the front side of the housing. The connections for the coupling electrodes (voltage pick-up in the bushing or in the capacitive insulator) and the earth connection are on the backside of the capacitive voltage ledge. The cables are connected through flat-plugs 6.3 x 0.8 mm. The terminals are protected from water through protection tulles. The measuring circuit component is installed inside the housing. The panel cut-out for the KS-housing must be accomplished according to figure BN002. |
